Updated: Jul 23, 2022

If you're looking for a modern-infused twist on traditional cuisine, Forks and Flavors in Kennesaw is the place for you. Recently featured on Atlanta's Fox 5 and The Food Network, this restaurant is taking classic recipes and giving them a unique spin. Try the Georgia Peach BBQ Short Ribs or the Korean Fried Shrimp - you won't be disappointed! It's just 30 minutes from downtown Atlanta and is surrounded by plenty of shopping to make an adventure. There are plenty of other things to do in the area, such as Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park and NoonDay Creek Trail.

Owned and operated by a married couple, Executive Chef David and Darnell, David is the quiet, introverted half of this dynamic duo. Darnell is the entertainer with an influential personality. I could not wait for his personality to meet mine.

When they were featured on Restaurant Impossible, and Robert arrives at Forks and Flavors, he meets up with married co-owners David and Darnell. Roberts soon learns that David, the restaurant’s executive chef, is struggling to run his kitchen under the shadow of his husband’s big personality. It’s Darnell’s way or the highway, and his overwhelming need to be right all the time is wreaking havoc on the day-to-day operations of their business. Robert’s task is straightforward, and he develops and executes a plan to save the restaurant and their relationship.

If you're looking for a delicious, locally-sourced meal and some creative craft cocktails, look no further than Forks and Flavors. Chef David has created a mouth-watering menu, and Co-owner Darnell has curated a selection of unique, flavorful cocktails featuring Black-owned alcohol brands. I had the pleasure of sampling both the food and the drinks, and I can confidently say that Forks and Flavors is an excellent choice for date night, birthday celebrations, or brunch with friends. Not only is the food and drink top-notch, but Forks and Flavors also support local businesses by employing students from Kennesaw State University. So if you're looking for a great meal AND want to support a Black-owned and LGBTQIA business, Check out Forks and Flavors.
