A leader may exercise regularly and still feel isolated. Another may be financially secure but overwhelmed by occupational demands. The eight dimensions of wellness provide a broad way to notice different sources of support and strain without reducing wellbeing to one mood score.
The dimensions
Emotional, physical, social, occupational, intellectual, spiritual, environmental and financial wellness interact. They do not need to be equal every day. The model is a reflection framework, not a diagnostic instrument.
A one-page reflection
Rate each dimension from zero to ten based on your current satisfaction, defining each number for yourself. Choose just one dimension where a small improvement would be meaningful. Do not assume a low score means someone is disordered or failing.
Workplace use
An employer might improve clarity and schedule stability under occupational wellness, while supporting financial education or social connection in other programs. Avoid requesting private individual scores from employees or using such scores in performance reviews.
Make the next step measurable
Define one observable commitment, such as two protected focus blocks a week or a monthly family activity. Review progress in three months and adjust to new circumstances. Explore personal coaching for a guided goal-based approach.
