Featuring themes from Breaking Survival Mode: Happiness Triggers for Black Youth Mental Health and Generational Healing.
A resource library that will grow with the workshop
This page is reserved for participants, educators, counselors, school leadership and parents interested in the seventh annual conference presentation. The workshop examines how behavior can signal distress, why generational messages about silence can create barriers, how family connection can support young people, and how age-appropriate emotional regulation exercises fit into schools and communities.
What will be added after the presentation is finalized
- Approved presentation slides and workshop learning objectives.
- A participant workbook with the exercises presented during the session.
- Parent and educator discussion guides, sources and resource lists.
- Age-banded mindfulness activities, including bubble breathing, nature noticing and classroom resets.
- Follow-up information about assemblies, teacher training and certified Mental Health First Aid programs.
These materials are forthcoming, not currently available for download. The teaching slides and any participant materials will be added after the final conference version is approved. To learn more meanwhile, explore mindfulness in schools, ages 3–5, ages 6–10, and ages 11–19.
School and community partnerships
School districts can inquire now about a future assembly, educator workshop or appropriate Mental Health First Aid training. Conference participation does not automatically make student worksheets or slides available for republishing; approved resources will be provided here when ready.
