"Getting your mind prepared for your weight loss journey is important"
Health coaches can give you the boost of motivation and inspiration needed to reach your health goals. Their support shows that it's still possible even when change is difficult!
Health coaching works because people often need someone in their corner who understands what they're going through. Research shows those with a coach had better results than others without one; this could be due mainly to how necessary guidance from an outside perspective sometimes provides us when trying new things on our own.
People tend to hire health coaches to help them with a wide variety of health issues, such as weight loss, stress reduction, the management of chronic conditions, improving diet and exercise, tobacco cessation, addiction, adjusting to a life-altering health event, like a heart attack. There is an overlap between what a health coach does and what a life coach does. Still, a life coach’s domain is much broader and includes career issues, executive coaching, and professional effectiveness.
A coach's essential technique is motivational interviewing, in which a coach asks open-ended questions to help clients elicit their reasons for change. Instead of the doctor saying, “You need to lose weight,” a coach might ask, “What would it mean for you to be at your ideal weight?” or “What are some things you’ve tried in the past that haven’t worked?” These questions are designed to help the client clarify their goals and begin to think about how change might be possible. In addition, coaches often use techniques from positive psychology, such as Strength-Based Interviewing (SBI), to help clients identify their strengths and move forward from a place of personal power.
If you’re considering hiring a coach, it’s essential to find someone who is aligned with your values and has experience helping people with similar issues. An excellent place to start is by asking your friends or colleagues if they know anyone whom they would recommend. Once you have a few names, you can check out the coaches’ websites and read testimonials from previous clients. When you’ve narrowed your list to a few coaches you’re interested in working with, most will offer a free consultation call, which is an excellent way to get a sense of whether or not they would be a good fit for you.
You have helped me more in one day than a entire year of therapy.
Thank you Christian
